ABOUT MEG

A native of Colorado Springs, mezzo-soprano Meg Brilleslyper is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. Upcoming roles include Cherubino in The Ghosts of Versailles, Isolier in Le comte Ory, Flora in La Traviata, Sandmännchen in Hänsel und Gretel, Clotilde in Norma, Die Vertraute in Elektra, and Der Küchenjunge in Rusalka. Recent roles include Bradamante in Alcina, Mércèdes in Carmen, Bianca and Lucretia (cover) in The Rape of Lucretia, Filipyevvna (cover) in Eugene Onegin, Ruggiero in Alcina, Pane in La Calisto, and Nancy in Albert Herring. Meg was a finalist in the 2025 Concert of Arias competition at Houston Grand Opera, a winner of the 2025 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition Houston District, as well as the Jessie Kneisel Lieder Competition and the Eastman Concerto Competition in 2023. Meg is a proud alumna of the Young Artists Vocal Academy at Houston Grand Opera (2023), the Aspen Music Festival (2022, 2023), and the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, CA, as a Lehrer Vocal Institute Fellow (2024). Meg will attend the Merola Opera Program in San Francisco, CA in summer 2025 before joining the Bayerische Staatsoper Opernstudio in Munich, Germany for the 2025/26 season.
